Midori's Reply
After many years I heard from her and have the correct version of the poem...
Mid, please write me again, I would love to reconnect, did you get my message from your babysitting days?????
So there I was, quietly reading "The Sea Wolf" while across the room Thierry - my husband - was surfing the net, when suddenly he starts reciting "Maybe one day you will realize that the minutes and hours..." Needless to say, it grabs my attention! So I pick up and finish it from memory, and am totally mystified as to where he found it, and excited about discovering who wrote it (it wasn't me, it was written in a yearbook back when I was a teenager - I thought it was awesome at the time that the author didn't sign it...) Turns out he'd searched for my name and your site came up.... Anyway, here's the whole poem, from MY memory back to YOURS...
The correct version of this great poem...
Maybe one day you will realize
That the minutes and hours now going by
will never go by again
Then perhaps you will realize
that in the precious life of yours
you must do what you love and want most
You must say what you feel
and make the most of all great things
But even if you do see all this
and even if you have a goal or a dream
you may never reach it
Because it is a very hard thing to do
Around so many people who do not realise or understand
Life
It is very hard --
I know--

And it is still "REAL" Thanks Dori!!!! Please write me again, or reply to my emails.
